Wind Speed Logger, Wireless, for Cranes
To maximize productivity and ensure the safety of your crane operations, APRS World, LLC, offers the Crane Wind Speed Logger. Bolted to the tip of the crane, our Crane Logger provides data logging for historical records of wind conditions and live data for safety and operational decisions. Our design philosophy is that data is most important. Data is downloaded wirelessly from a laptop computer running the supplied software. No cables to run. With an optional in cab Wind Speed Display, live data can be viewed by the crane operator.

Wind Speed Display
 Live Wind Data with Alarm
Our Wind Speed Display is used as a stand alone device when data logging is not needed. The easy-to-use interface includes a bright backlit LCD screen, which displays current wind speed and the maximum gust speed registered during the previous 60 seconds. A simple menu-driven interface using the LCD and three front panel buttons makes setup easy. User setup options include unit of measurement, sensor type, and gust speed and wind speed for buzzer. Used with our pivoting mount, the Wind Speed Display supports heated ice free or normal wind sensors.

Install kit for Wind Speed Logger
The Wind Data Logger for cranes comes with mounting hardware to attach the anemometer and main box to 2" or 3" diameter crane structure. For installation that don't meet that criteria we offer a hardware package to ease custom installations. It provides the fasteners and materials that your on-site mechanics can use to install the system.

Wind Speed Logger, Wireless + Cellular (GSM), for Cranes
Data logger records wind speed, wind gust, and average wind speed at one minute intervals. Data is sent automatically to a dedicated data service that receives and stores the data. Data can be downloaded wirelessly from a laptop computer running the supplied software for areas with no cell phone coverage. Logger and anemometer mount on crane boom. No cables to run.
Unit incorporates a GSM / GPRS cellular modem for world-wide data transmission capabilities. With suitable GSM coverage, data plan, and SIM card the logger can send wind data with no human interaction. A server or data service, see below, is required to receive and store the data. Crane Wind Speed Logger - Cellular Cut Sheet
Dedicated Data Collection Server
Dedicated server for wind data collection. Installed and operated by you at your site or home office. Data is received from the cranes over the Internet. Can handle data from up to 100 cranes. Server runs Linux operating system. 1U rack mount. 3 year on site hardware warranty. Requires Internet connection and firewall configuration.
Price: $4,000 + $340 annual support contract with APRS World
Hosted Data Collection Server
Data is received by APRS World's server. Data is made available through a secure (HTTPS) website with username and password required.
Price: $600 per year for up to 5 cranes
